Google Vehicle Ads Have Officially Launched in select markets in the US. This new ad format links directly to a dealer’s Vehicle Description Page. The ads show pictures and information about nearby vehicles for sale. Those who are interested in buying a vehicle will be presented with several options, including delivery and financing.

How-to Guide for Google’s New Auto Ads

These new vehicle ads work in a similar way to Google’s Shopping tab, which displays a variety of text and image ads. However, Vehicle Ads are more detailed and offer a more in-depth informational experience. They’re triggered by lower-funnel query parameters, such as “make” and “model,” which allow them to serve up the most relevant ads to car shoppers.

Since the introduction of the ad format, advertisers have reported an average increase in conversions. According to Google, 1% of all new car buyers bought online in 2013, while 16% will do so in 2021. With these numbers, it’s clear that auto advertisers need to get in front of consumers who are in the market for a vehicle.

To begin advertising with vehicle ads, you’ll need to create a vehicle inventory feed. This data feed includes the model, make, and condition of the car, as well as its price and mileage. You’ll also need to upload this feed to Google’s Merchant Center.

Once you’ve set up your account, you’ll need to launch a Smart Shopping campaign to get your ads in front of the right shoppers. If you’re unsure of how to do this, you can contact a Google representative.
